Best Short Film (Jury) Award
B.D.M.I., bags the Best Short Film Award (Jury) on 9th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival for the fourth time in a row continuing the legacy. The Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival aims to recognize the enlightening, entertaining and progressive new age cinema of youth and experienced filmmakers. The festival was held at Delhi on 30th of April 2019 and the occasion was graced by the auspicious presence of several dignitaries from the film industry. It was organized by Minibox office and Education Expo to explore the endeavor of the emerging filmmakers .More than 750 films participated, out of which 300 films were officially selected at the film fest, across the globe.150 films were screened to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Father of the Indian Cinema, Dada Saheb Phalke. B.D.M.I.’s short film ‘Rong’ managed to win the hearts of all the Jury members and bagged the best short film (Jury) award at 9th DSPFF 2019.
RONG(Bengali word for ‘Colours’)weaves together the stirring true stories of a struggling director, a teenage singer and a painter-who have overcome devastating obstacles, unselfishly given to the community and embraced their inner superhero because of their love for art. This short film encourages its viewers to find their own unique path to the world of Art. The crew members of this short film were Papri Das,Deeptangshu Maiti, Arka Ganguly and Priyadarshi Basu of class XII.
