Student Achievements

B.D.M. International is ecstatic to announce the success of its chess masters, as the school has bagged the Champion’s Trophy in the 2nd War of Knights FIDE Rated School Chess Championship 2024, hosted by Knight Chess Academy from January 20th to 24th, 2024, defeating 98 other schools.
Students also shone individually, with Rishan Debnath securing the 3rd position, Sanjeeban Mandal securing the 24th position, Wriddish Chakraborty securing the 32nd position, and Upayan Dey securing the 35th position in the open category, winning cash prizes and certificates. Adrysh Mukherjee and Arpita Pradha also won trophies for their success in the competition. Rishan Debnath also made us proud by achieving the 12th position at the 1st SOA International Grand Masters Chess Festival in Category B in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The inception of a creative genius

B.D.M. International feels proud and elated to share that the endeavour of Srinjoy Paul, Shambhavi Guha Roy and Riddhi Chakraborty of Class XII Science has enabled them to get selected for Stage 2 of the Project GLEE (Great Lunar Expedition for Everyone).

Creativity knows no age boundaries! Young or old, all individuals have the capacity to express their imaginative ideas! Young author Samridh Chatterjee engaged in an interview session about his book “An Indian Kid In Japan” with Rajanya Roy. A proud moment for B.D.M International as the young author’s book launch at the International Kolkata Book Fair, 2024, was a captivating event, brimming with enthusiasm and literary fervor.

B.D.M. International feels proud to announce that Samrat Bhattacharya of Class XII Science has achieved an All India Rank of 25 out of 40.43+ lakh students that participated in the ‘Chandrayaan-3 Mahaquiz’ hosted by the Government of India during the month of October 2023. He is one of the 50 students, who has been invited to visit the ISRO Campus in addition to a Cash Prize of Rs. 1 lakh and a certificate signed by Dr. S. Somanath, the Chairman of ISRO.

The Tata Building School Essay Competition was organized by Tata Group on 17 August 2023 at B D.M. International. Students from standard VI to VIII took part at the junior level and the senior school students from standard IX to XII participated in the senior level competition.
The essay competition was conducted in Hindi language on the contemporary theme of the importance of Recycling and how one can adopt five (5) good habits to do the same.

From the junior level, the 1st position was secured by
Anusha Khandelwal (VIII/3).
The 2nd and the 3rd positions were bagged by
Divyanshi Laxmi (VIII/1) and
Ayush Sharma (VII/ 13) respectively.

At Senior level,
Subranshu Das (X- 5) secured the first position.
Anirudha Chatterjee (XI -Science) acquired the Second position and
Priyadarshini Das (XI – Science) obtained the third position.

All the achievers were given Certificates and Medals.

Adrija Roy of B.D.M. International made us proud by securing the 2nd Runner-up position in the CBSE Gymnastics National Championship 2023 (Under 14 Category), hosted by Chitrakoot International School, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra from 2nd to 5th November 2023. She bagged the prestigious bronze medal after her display of exemplary grit and determination at the National level competition.

Triumph in the Royal Game!
Chess masters of B.D.M International bagged prizes in the CBSE Far East Zone Chess Championship, hosted by Royal Global School Guwahati from the 12th to 14th of October, 2023. While the Boys of B.D.M.I secured the First Position for the Under 14 Mixed category, the Girls acquired the Position of First Runner Up for the Under 14 Girls’ Category in the game. Special Board Prizes were awarded to Rishan Debnath, Sanjeeban Mandal, Wriddhish Chakraborty, and Divyanshi Singh.
Ranveer Pawar, Arpita Pradhan, Vakiti Theerdha Reddy, and Srijoni Roy Mandal also made remarkable contributions to the game.

Ever wondered about the fact that – Clean and green is the perfect dream!!
Young minds of B.D.M.International with an intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhata (Cleanliness) participated in the Poster Making Campaign on 29 September 2023 organized by The Activity Club of Victoria Memorial. B.D.M.Ian Chirantan Halder of Grade VIII received the 3rd prize in the competition for his unique portrayal of “Swachhata Hi Seva”!

An Indian adaptation of the play “She Kills Monsters” by Qui Nguyen was performed at the American Centre by the students of class VIII on 3rd August 2023. In both the Morning and Day sessions students came together to deliver what can be called “a dramatic masterpiece” which made them confident enough to face an audience. The students accepted their challenge of performing hard against senior classes and enacted with such finesse, only to bag the 3rd place among equals! It was indeed a day thoroughly enjoyed by one and all – be it the experts, teachers, or parents.
The students of BDMI, Rishav Ray (HUM-B), Souptika Bhattacharya (XII A), Saumya Singh and Rudrangshu Sengupta (class X) participated in ‘Youth Parliament’, organised by Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur in memory of the founder, Rajmata Gayatri Devi. 34 schools participated with 132 students. Six topics were given and each parliamentarian spoke about each topic chosen by them. Six parliamentarians were awarded as-“Best Parliamentarians” from each group and each session. Our Souptika Bhattacharya XII, has been judged as one of the best parliamentarians from her group. Her topic was ‘Balance Between Economy and Ecology’. Heartiest Congratulations to her !! It’s been a fantastic performance. She has been awarded with a cheque of eleven thousand rupees and mementos for each participant.
We are extremely proud of her.

Indeed, a proud moment for B.D.M.I family for out of 8 finalists from Kolkata, West Bengal for RAM AWATAR GUPT HINDI PROTSAHAN AWARD 2023 from class 12 CBSE board 2 Finalists and 4 finalists from class 10 CBSE BOARD belonged to the B.D.M.I Family. The toppers of RAM AWATAR GUPT HINDI PROTSAHAN AWARD 2023 are

1) Shuvangi Chakraborty topper finalist of class 12 and Swarn Kanti Duggar topper finalist of class 10 was awarded with a memento, a congratulatory certificate and a cheque of ₹12,100 from Sanmarg.

2) Adrija Mukherjee Topper finalist of class 12 and Didhithi Kundu, Swayam Sawarup Patra and Shreya Bhar were awarded with a memento, a congratulatory certificate and a medal from Sanmarg.

On 24th July 2023, B.D.M International School held its Annual Prize Distribution ceremony when the students were rewarded for their sincere and sustained efforts in the 2022-2023 academic session. It was not only academic excellence that was appreciated but also categories such as all rounded effort, co curricular interests, regularity, punctuality, and progress were honoured. Apart from the chief guest, Mr Sushil Poddar (eminent personality in the Trade association circle), there were other dignitaries, CEO, Mr Gupta, Principal, Ms Madhumita Sengupta and Vice Principal, Ms Madhumita Seal to grace the occasion and present the prizes to the achievers. The ceremony conducted on Monday was a wonderful celebration of all the hard work put in by the students and most certainly made the parents, teachers, and entire BDMI family feel especially proud.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) an initiative of Vijnana Bharati ( VIBHA) is a national program for popularizing science among students of classes VI-XI. The national level camp of VVM (2022-23) was held at IISER, Thiruvananthapuram. Students of B.D.M.International participated in the camp. Sabyasachi Laskar of Class IX came out with flying colors bagging the 3rd position. He is also a proud recipient of the title ‘HIMALAYAN’. Devapi Das also participated in Class VI. This remains an experience of a lifetime competing with the brilliant minds of the Nation for both of them.
B.D.M. INTERNATIONAL won The 24 Parganas (south) Interschool Cricket Tournament 2022-23.
Rishabh Banerjee of Class X, Section 8 has represented Bengal at the Nationals for the last three consecutive years. Calcutta District Swimming Association has recently felicitated him in a program hosted at Calcutta Rowing Club on 10th April 2023

We share with great pride that B.D.M.INTERNATIONAL has bagged the CHAMPIONSHIP in the U-14 Age Group Category at the CBSE NATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP, 2023. Furthermore, Rishan Debnath, a student of grade VII has made us proud by winning the CBSE National Level Chess Championship. He has secured the 1st Position in CBSE INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 in the U-14 Mixed Category organised at Brookfield International School in Chandigarh. He has also secured the board prize in the 1st Board for securing the highest point in board one.

With an aim to develop stamina, self-confidence, composure, and health~ Vaduguru Saiswaroop of Class VIII bagged the winning position in The Telegraph Online Edugraph 18 Under 18 Awards Chapter II.

He presented an outstanding display of his karate moves, fighting methods, and variety of techniques, including blocks, strikes, evasions, and throws that involved a series of intensive practices, admired by all dignitaries

Congratulations! To the winners, Saptarshi Talukdar and Rishabh Debnath of Grade VII. They participated in the Knights Open International Fide Rating Chess tournament, in 2022.

The Royal Global School in Guwahati, Assam, hosted the CBSE Far-East Zonal Chess Competition on November 27, 2022, and B.D.M. International won first place in the Under 14 years age group division.

A remarkable feat has been achieved by the students of B.D.M. International in a science project competition organized by the Electrical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University on 21.10.2022.
Tannistha Debnath, Swapneel Bose and Debopam Roychowdhury of XI SC C from our school have secured the first position and bagged a prize money of Rs.3000 along with certificates of achievement. The students had made the project on “Use of Ionic Wind as a Coolant”. This novel project was highly appreciated by the judges, who also lauded the other innovative working models made by the students from our school.

Anvi Das has made us at BDMI extremely proud by winning the First Prize at Skillfest 2022 in the Photography category.
 
Organized by Telegraph Edugraph to mark United Nations World Youth Skills Day on 15 July 2022, the competition was held across five categories and was open to all school students throughout Eastern India.
 
Anvi Das’s fantastic prize-winning entry reflects BDMI’s effort to help create thinking, well-rounded youth for the country’s future. While core academics have their due share, BDMI encourages its students to explore and reflect beyond the curricula and follow their passion – be it photography, scientific and creative design, or myriad other areas.

Congratulations to Sayandeep Deb of class VII,  for securing the 1st Runners Up position in the Junior Young Chef India Schools 2021, organized by I.I.H.M.

The young chef proved every word of the dictum, ‘ a good cook believes in following his heart than following recipes’ true.

B. D. M. International hosted an Online Intra School Chess Tournament via Lichess (Chess App), to provide a platform for the students to improve on the logical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students of classes IV – XII participated in this event held on 20th July 2020 from 1pm-3pm. The registrations went up quite significantly and the response has been overwhelming with more than 400 participants.

The game had 8 rounds in total where 400 students were playing at different levels simultaneously. It was an absolute wonder to see how all the participants were finishing all the rounds keeping their calm. It was a fascinating experience overall and the students got a great opportunity to display their skills. Another milestone has been achieved by B. D. M. I. amidst this new normal and we could not be more proud.

Monidipa Ghosh (Class VII) bagged the 1st Runner-Up position in 2nd Korea-India Friendship Painting Competition 2019 organized by Korean Cultural Centre, New Delhi and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. She had received a Trophy, Certificate and a Cheque of Rs. 5000.

The students of B.D.M.INTERNATIONAL put on a spectacular display of courage, hard work, skill and brilliance during the DISTRICT ATHLETIC MEET, 2020 at RABINDRA SAROVAR STADIUM on 11th February, 2020.

The Athletic meet was organized by SOUTH KOLKATA DISTRICT COUNCIL FOR SCHOOL GAMES AND SPORTS. The track events included a number of races for different categories. The day was filled with exciting victories by the students of B.D.M.INTERNATIONAL.

  • SOUMYADEEP PAYRAH bagged the SLIVER medal in 100 meters in under – 17 boys’ category, again secured the GOLD medal in 200 meters race in under – 17 boys’ category, also became first and secured GOLD in 400 meters race.
  • PREETOM DAS got BRONZE medal in 100 meters in under – 17 boys’ category, also secured BRONZE medal in 200 meters race in under – 17 boys’ category.
  • SHAILODITYA GHOSH bagged the BRONZE medal in 400 meters in under – 17 boys’ category, and 200 meters track event.
  • KANISKA BHOWMICK secured the BRONZE medal in 400 meters race in under – 17 girls’ category.

Sabyasachi Laskar of Class- VI stood first and has qualified out of the 10 students of B.D.M.International, from the State Level Camp, for the National Level Camp to be held in Chandigarh on 16th and 17th of May, 2020 conducted by Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan, an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training – NCERT, an institution under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

B.D.M.International bagged the Winners position in Science Model Making and 2nd Runner Up position in Vocal Music From “Tanjim”- the inter school fest organized by Gokhale Memorial Girls School.

B.D.M.International bagged the Winners position for Junk -n- fun(Best out of waste), 1st Runners up position for Mind Game (Chess) and 2nd Runners up position for Eclat (Fashion Show) from Jubilare 2019 (Inter School Fest of Shri Shikshayatan School).

This is to announce that our student, Sanga Putatunda of Class -IX, has secured 4 Gold and 1 Silver medal representing B.D.M.I. in CBSE Far East Zone Swimming Championship in the Under-17 (Girls) Category held in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.The competition was hosted by KIIT International School from 18-10-2018 to 21-10-2018.The following are the events she participated and the position she ranked are:

On Saturday, June 7th ‘Prabhat Khabar’ organized Pratibha Samman 2018 to felicitate all the Hindi Board toppers of class X and XII from their respective school to encourage their achievement and to highlight the importance ofHindi as a language in our country. This event was held in Bhasa Bhavan, national library. B. D. M. International became a part of this wonderful celebration.

From class X, 99 is the highest score in Hindi. Debasmita Biswas got 99 in Hindi. The following students who got above 95% are Ritodeep Das, Neha Acharya, Anuska Chowdhury and Kashvika Khodiyar. They were felicitated with certificated and medals.

From class XII 96 is the highest score, Simanta Bhansali and Pratik Gupta got 96 in Hindi. The highest scorers above 90% are Khusbu Jena, Amlan Banerjee, Sushmita Pandey, Raina Ghosh, Soham Sanyal, Sonali Jaiswal and Arpit Chowdhury received felicitation for their outstanding performance in A.I.S.S.C.E 2018.

B.D.M. International congratulate Srijita Biswas for securing 1st Psition in (45-55kg Junior) and Adrija Biswas for securing 3rd position in (50-60 Kg Senior) for their extra ordinary performance in International (Euro-Asia) Karate Championship 2018 held in Nepal.

B.D.M. International is proud of one of its student Sabyasachi Laskar of Class IV for his extra ordinary achievement in National Olympiad. He has secured International Rank – 1 in National Science Olympiad (NSO), zonal rank 2 in National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) and Academic Excellence Scholarship (AES).
