B.D.M.International is celebrating the Fit India School Week 2020 with great fervour and zeal Teachers and students enthusiastically participated in the virtual assembly conducted over the virtual medium. Free hand exercises were carried out in the virtual assembly as a part of the holistic curriculum. Jogging, Gymnastics and aerobics were performed by the students under the guidance of their teachers to inculcate the importance of fitness through fun filled activities.
Common Yoga protocols were carried out by the Teachers and students of B. D. M. International in the Virtual assembly, as a continuation of the Fit India Week Celebration. An enriching debate and symposium session was conducted on the topic of “ Re-strengthening of the mind post pandemic” and was attended by the young learners, their parents and teachers over the virtual platform
Activity 1: Poster Making Competition
B.D.M.International is celebrating the Fit India School Week, 2020 with great fervour and zeal .A colourful continuation of this celebration saw the enthusiastic participation of students in the poster making competition on the theme “Hum Fit Toh India Fit” and “New India Fit India”, providing an opportunity for the learners to let their creativity explode over a blank canvas!
Activity 2: Online Intra-School Chess Competition
An online intra-school chess competition was organised for students of all grades, over the virtual medium in an effort to stimulate their mental faculties, improve concentration and help them develop problem solving skills. Learners from all ages enthusiastically participated in this competition making this event a resounding success !
ESSAY TOPIC: FITNESS BEATS PANDEMIC
Prioritizing fitness has become a necessity in this new-normal. Being the emergency responders to the pandemic our physical and mental health are tremendously taxed right now. Hence, maintaining a routine for fitness can boost both our physical as well as our mental health. B.D.M. International in order to encourage the students to stay fit organized an essay competition on the topic “Fitness Beats Pandemic”. Enthusiastic participation has been seen from the students. The competition was open to students from classes III to V.
10 best entries have been selected among the many entries that were received. It was amazing to see that little children are so aware about the importance of fitness.

Activity 2: Rainbow on my plate
As part of the the national ‘Fit India week’ celebration, B.D.M International had organised an interactive session ‘ Rainbow On My Plate’ for motivating students to involve themselves with nutrition and sports to ensure a healthy lifestyle.
Dr Anindita Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Head Of Department of Food and Nutrition, Maharani Kasiswari College, University of Kolkata lead this session and explained the importance of fresh food and colours of food as part of our balanced diet.
Students enjoyed the session and learnt new facts about healthy food and the connection between what we eat and how we feel.
In continuation of the Fit India School Week celebration, activities were dedicated to family fitness, thus Family Fitness Day was practiced by carrying out simple to advanced yogic postures. Those asanas were chosen which would help in group fitness ( learners along with their parents) and were performed by students with their family members within the safety and comfort of their homes.
