BDM International has celebrated the 69th Republic Day through the EK BHARAT SHRESTHA BHARAT (United India Best India) programme to make the students understand and assimilate the cultural oneness of India.

The programme had its auspicious beginning with their hoisting of the National flag and the March past done by the students holding the school banner. The students wearing the house uniform of red, green, blue and yellow and parading were really eye catching.

India is a land of diverse cultures and this EBSB programme highlighted the cultural multiplicity in its kaleidoscopic aspects through music, drama, cuisine, fashion show and dance. The multi-lingual presentation through one act play has undoubtedly emphasised that India speaks as ONE – the language of Unity. The fashion show brought out the diverse and colourful attires of different states of India. The students enthusiastically took part in the same and presented the Indian culture with a glance of ‘Garwa dance’ of Gujrat or ‘Bihu dance’ of Assam. More than 2000 students were spectators and the Enactment parade presented by the students of the junior section reincarnated the golden period of Indian history with little Bapuji or Netaji on stage.

The Republic Day celebration at BDMI was indeed a special moment due to the gracious presence of AC Pankaj Singh – the East Coast Guard Aviator who is the pilot of Front Line Squadron under Ministry of Defence, India. In the words of Mr. Singh “ What is Patriotism? It is not just loving one’s motherland but every citizen must devotedly do his duty to give his best to his country”. The students felt truly inspired and the young minds got ignited with a patriotic mission and zeal.

The programme had its customary ending with the singing of the National Anthem and every heart departed from the auditorium with a feeling of Unity, Pride and Patriotism.
