Principal As Guest Editor At Times NIE 11 Dec, 2015

Project Details

BDMI Principal, Vijaya Chaudhuri expressed her thoughts at Times NIE, an initiative by The Times of India. As rightly said by her, ‘Tolerance is a mark of education and superior culture of ethics of the polite society. It is our duty as adults to imbibe in students the capability to accept new views without negatively pre-judging them.’ She exclaims that whenever she sees her students during the recess hours playing, laughing and enjoying together, it gives her immense pleasure. But the very moment when her eyes glance over the newspaper, the satisfying smile vanishes. According to her intolerance initiates from narrowness and self-conceit. Intolerance is the result of dogmatism, a belief that there is only one attitude that is right. It is the duty of the adults to imbibe in students the capability to accept new views without having a negative thought for it. Tolerance is required in every spheres of life as it plays a vital role to establish peace and love from the smallest unit up to the highest unit of the society. Sentiments of an individual must not be violated and must be given the opportunity to express his thoughts. This will ultimately lead to a tolerance society of compassionate human beings.
