Sensitizing the Torch Bearers of Tomorrow

B.D.M. International conducted an awareness and sensitization program on “Crime Against Women” on 17th January, 2020. The event was conducted by and in the presence of Robin Paul and Agnes Toppo of International Justice Mission (an internationally acclaimed NGO) along with distinguished and eminent police officers of the city namely, Mr. Rashid Munir Khan (IPS, The Superintendent of Police, Baruipur), Mr. Indrajit Basu, (The Additional Superintendent of Police, Baruipur), Mr. Mirza Mir Kashim, (Deputy Superintendent of Police, Baruipur), Inspector Kakali Ghosh (I/C Women, Baruipur) and Inspector Sukhamoy Chakraborty (I/C Narendrapur). The program was inaugurated by the distinguished guests and IPS Officer Rashid Munir Khan addressed the students with an inspiring speech especially stressing upon the need for girls to be smart in dubious situations and to fight back. He urged the boys to be responsible and protect women and the vulnerable, not just in their own family, but in the society itself. Robin Paul and Agnes Toppo of International Justice Mission, who have worked for rescuing and protecting the vulnerable from slavery all over the world, shared their areas of concern and how our society can be made more secure. They conducted a live presentation and made the audience aware of the concept of “Cyber Sex Trafficking” and discussed ways to prevent such menace. This enlightening and educational workshop concluded with inspiring words and a vote of thanks from the Principal.
