A Step Towards Healthy Lifestyle – an Initiative by B.D.M.International
B.D.M.International organized a workshop on 16th January, 2020 at the Gemstone Auditorium on Management of Lifestyle Diseases. This informative workshop was conducted by Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), West Bengal Chapter and attended by almost 400 students of the senior classes.
It was an interactive session in which the keynote speakers were Dr. Kaushik Pandit and Dr. Debmalya Sanyal. Apart from an engaging Power Point Presentation, the question – answer round was another added feature of this workshop to create awareness amongst the students to have a healthy lifestyle.
“Prevention is better than Cure”, keeping this adage in mind, the B.D.M.I. initiative to help the students lead a healthy lifestyle free from addiction, stress, junk-food consumption was truly laudable. Diabetes – the non-communicable, ‘silent killer’ has taken its evil grip even on the children and adolescents. Juvenile diabetes, hyper-tension, stroke being the major concern, this workshop was definitely a significant step to educate the students on how to avoid being the early victims of lifestyle diseases. The basis of true education is not bookish learning and thus, such workshops help a lot to build conscious and healthy future citizens of India.
