Agamoni Utsav – 2022

Agamoni Utsav 2022

Durga Puja marks the beginning of a ten-day-long annual festival celebrated across the country, particularly in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal.  The festival epitomizes the victory of good over evil. It brings a time of happy tides for all as they welcome their Maa Durga by adorning the city with jaw-dropping pandals and spectacular public art.

On 28th September, B.D.M. International celebrated the Agomoni (arrival) of Goddess Durga with the same fervour. The students of all standards participated in various activities like painting, wall-hanging, and ‘chandmala’ making and enthusiastically decorated the school campus with their artwork.

The program was graced by the presence of the members of Navanir – a retirement home for elderly women in Kolkata. Our school took pride in receiving them to bless our children. It was also an attempt to add a little happiness to the lives of these elderly guests during this joyous occasion. The program began with the felicitation of our guests, followed by a flow of various events by the students of all standards. This included Devibodhan (commencement of the worship), followed by Chandipath recitation, enactment of Nava-Durga (nine incarnations of the Goddess), dance performances like Chunichi naach and dandiya, etc. The zeal and dedication of the performers and their brilliant performances created a wave of merriment among all the viewers. The program came to an end with a vote of thanks. The day would surely remain etched in our memories for a long time.
