BDMI STUDENTS ACTED AS GOOD SAMARITANS
“Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much.”- Helen Keller

The Interact Club of B.D.M.INTERNATIONAL organized a winter wear and stationery items collection drive across all levels of the school (from toddlers to senior secondary) as part of the Community Outreach Programme. In order to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the youth icon of India, the positive energy of the youngsters was channelized by the school interact Club in a very noble direction.

A week-long donation drive was organized from 4th January 2023 to 9th January 2023 in which the Primary and Pre-Primary students donated brand new stationery items to two NGOs: Genesis and Newlight. This initiative imparted the value of education that Service to the community is Service to God.

On 10th January 2023 the team of Interactors ventured out to a number of NGOs across the city to bring smiles to several faces. The visit to Newlight NGO was an enriching experience for the standard IX Interactors. Spreading the warmth of love through donating winter wear instilled in them a profound feeling of togetherness.

On 10th January, 12 Interactors (6 from class XI and 6 from class IX), having been accompanied by 2 teachers also visited two other NGOs- Ananda Mandir at North Kolkata and Rainbow Organization at Middleton Row Loretto House. The children at Rainbow presented a welcome dance and prepared ‘Thank You’ cards as well. The healthy and friendly interactions amongst the Interactors of B.D.M.I. and the children from the NGOs definitely helped them develop a lasting bond.

On 12th January, 15 Interactors (10 from Standard XI and 5 from standard IX) paid a visit to the Rotary Club School at Uluberia accompanied by 2 Teachers. This donation drive has undoubtedly paved the way for multiplying happiness- the motto of the Interact Club of B.D.M. International.
