STEM Session with Dr. Swati Mohan at U.S

The students of B.D.M. International from standard XI (Science Stream) with a keen interest in STEM fields were fortunate enough to attend an interactive session of two hours with Dr. Swati Mohan, the renowned Aerospace Engineer (Mars 2020 Guidance & Controls Operations Lead, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory), at the American Centre on February 29, 2024.
Many schools of repute attended this engaging session. Dr. Mohan shared her journey and enlightened the students about her field of work. She not only motivated them about STEM education but also emphasized “to be curious” in order to attain personal growth. Her three magic mantras: “Know and Accept who you are”, “Create your own support system” and “Actively do your best” ignited the young minds.
Dr. Mohan shared her phenomenal journey and experience about her three acclaimed projects ‘Cassini’ (mission to Saturn), ‘ Grail’ (related to the Moon) and ‘Mars 2020’ thus leaving the attendees literally mesmerized.
The question-answer round at the end of the session was undoubtedly a gripping moment of revelation that unfolded the challenges faced by her in the fields of Aeronautics and Astronautics. It was the saga of her power and passion that kept everyone enthralled.
The maiden concept of ‘Space Camp’ was brilliantly unfurled by her and this was probably the most precious takeaway from this informative session.
